Nearby Meows is an iOS app for spotting, identifying, and cat-a-loging the cats you meet. Point your camera at a cat, catch it, and it joins your collection with its breed, rarity, and the spot where you found it.

Contact support / report a problem
When reporting a problem, please include your iPhone model, iOS version, and the steps that led to the issue.
The app says it can't access the camera.
Go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera and make sure Nearby Meows is turned on. The camera is required to scan cats.
My catches don't show up on the map.
A catch is only pinned to the map if location access was granted at the time of the catch. Check Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Nearby Meows and choose "While Using the App."
The app identified the wrong breed.
Breed identification runs on your device and isn't perfect, especially in low light or when the cat is partly hidden. You can pick the correct breed yourself when saving a catch, or edit it later from the capture's detail screen.
Where is my data stored? Is it backed up?
All catches, photos, and your profile are stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to us. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your data is included in your device backup. Deleting the app deletes its data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete a catch?
Open the catch from your collection and use the delete option on its detail screen.
